Our Dirty Chai blends Indian spices with western flavors and is based on Sumatra coffee beans. Our Sumatra coffee is organic and fair trade. These premium beans have a medium/dark roast, low acidity, are full-bodied, earthy, smooth, and have a long finish. Both the flavor and the aroma are stunning.

Suggestions How to Brew.

Similar to how you would brew a typical cup of coffee, you can make dirty chai. The simplest method is to use a drip coffee maker.

Our preferred method is to use a French press. That's how we do it.... Pour enough hot water into the French press to submerge the grounds. Use water that is roughly twice as much as the entire amount of ground coffee. Gently stir the coffee to evenly distribute the liquid throughout the grounds. Brewing time for a French press varies depending on the temperature of your water; cooler water takes longer. Place the French press's lid on top, then slowly lower the plunger to strain the grounds.

Slowly is the key here. If you rush, the plunger will stir up the coffee grounds, which will end up in your cup. Stop plunging before you reach the ground, and don't go all the way down. A slow plunge and gentle pour will reduce the amount of ground coffee and improve the flavor. Add a little bit of cinnamon on top for a nice finishing touch. You might have some floats from the chai spices in your cup; if it bothers you, you can always fish them out. Pour in your preferred milk and enjoy!
