Our premium collection already includes Picual oil, and Taggiasca is our second-robust premium oil from Northern California. Taggiasca olive oil is extracted from the Taggiasca olive variety, which comes from Taggia, Italy in the Linguria region, that's where the name comes from. The olives for this oil are grown in Northern California, which has a climate that is remarkably comparable to the Mediterranean.
This oil is very easy to pair with any balsamic vinegar. It has a lovely light yellow color and is very smooth with a peppery finish. Because of its smooth and light texture, this olive oil is an excellent choice for any recipe.
Taggiasca robust extra virgin olive oil is distinguished by its herbaceous notes of green bell pepper and artichoke. Additionally, there's a slight nuttiness similar to sunflower seeds. It has a powerful, assertive flavor with a peppery finish, bitterness, and a grassy taste. The pungency, also known as the "peppery finish" quality, in this oil comes from the phenolic compounds. In addition, robust oils are known to be fresher and contain a higher polyphenol count than milder oils.
